There is a story everywhere, and there indeed a story behind the foil pheasant icon now perched subtly atop Bogle's labels. When Warren Bogle and his son Chris first decided to bottle the family's wine, they wanted a label that artistically depicted the unique River region where the vines were planted. Living on Bogle's River Ranch, was a multi-talented artist named Paul Lorenzi. Warren and Chris asked Paul to create a sketch of the vines. Sitting down one evening, with his glass of wine in hand, Paul began his sketch, when suddenly a gorgeous male ring necked Pheasant came into view and settled among the vines. Paul captured the bird as he gracefully arced over the vines. Thus the label with the bird was born. Merritt Island, where Bogle is located, has always been a heaven for amazing wildlife. The Ringed necked Pheasant, though elusive to the quest, is a common resident on the island. I retrospect, the pheasant is a very appropriate symbol for Bogle, and staff and family alike hold the pheasant in high regard. Over the years, the single solitary bird from the original label became a pair of birds, the colorful male and the more subtle female. The bird evolved, from large, colorful artistic renditions, to embalematic outlines, to the noble gold-foiled logo that you see today. Following a long farming tradition, father and son Warren and Chris Bogle planted the first eight hectares of vines in Clarksburg, California in 1965. For years, Bogle has sought out these gnarly old vines to create our Old Vine Zinfandel. Scents of sun-warmed, wild raspberries bubble up to the surface in your first impression of the Zinfandel. Notes of ripe berries and nutmeg follow, while touches of black pepper and subtle spicy oak compliment the fruit. Full-bodied, the mouthfeel is rounded out and finished with earthy notes and soft tannins.

Closure: CORK

Alternative wine closures are substitute closures used in the wine industry for sealing wine bottles in place of traditional cork closures. The emergence of these alternatives has grown in response to quality control efforts by winemakers to protect against "cork taint" caused by the presence of the chemical trichloroanisole (TCA).

Screw caps or "Stelvin caps" are closures made only from aluminium material that threads onto the bottleneck. They are the predominant closure used by New Zealand wineries.[8][9] This can be attributed in part to the New Zealand screw cap initiative which promotes the use of screw caps instead of cork. Screw caps form a tighter seal and can keep out oxygen for a longer time than cork. These benefits aid in maintaining the wine's overall quality and aging potential.

Vino-Seal, or Vino-Lok, is a plastic/glass closure released by Alcoa. Since its introduction into the European market in 2003, over 300 wineries have utilized Vino-Seal. Using a glass stopper with an inert o-ring, the Vino-Seal creates a hermetic seal that prevents oxidation and TCA contamination.

Zork is an alternative wine closure that seals like a screw cap and pops like a cork. The Zork closure consists of three parts; an outer cap providing a tamper evident clamp that locks onto the band of a standard cork mouth bottle, an inner metal foil which provides an oxygen barrier similar to a screw cap, and an inner plunger which creates the ‘pop’ on extraction and reseals after use.

The traditional crowned bottle cap has been used in the sparkling wine industry as a closure during the bottle fermentation process (méthode traditionnelle). Normally the cap is replaced with a cork before shipping, though recently some producers are releasing wines using the crown cap as their closure.
