Chapel Down is rapidly establishing itself as a world class wine brand and is gaining national and international recognition. Made in Tenterden, Kent, Chapel Down is proud to be the first ever English producer to win a gold medal for sparkling wine at the prestigious International Wine Challenge and its wines are getting better with every vintage. Chapel Down boasts a state of the art winery and produces all wines on the estate, both still and sparkling. Their modern winery enables the winemakers to produce smart, varietal and fresh wines that display the best of their English vineyards. It is Chapel Down’s stated aim to produce the best wines in the UK. Chapel Down’s first big foray into the world of spirits is hugely exciting, as it binds together winemaking principles and English wine by-products with a whole new category of drinks. This aromatic gin is made from a base spirit derived from Pinot Noir grape skins, blended together with a neutral grain spirit. The result is an unmistakably English wine take on gin.
The creative distillers have extended their drinks offering with what they believe is the first ever Pinot Noir gin infusion. The Pinot Noir gin is created using distilled Pinot Noir grape skins from the Chapel Down’s harvest. The grapes are then infused with juniper, coriander, dried red berries, rose buds, citrus fruits, rosehip, angelica and grains of paradise. The end result is an aromatic pink gin with delicate aromas of red berries, which subtly balance the juniper led palate and refreshing citrus finish.
