Every great House is born of a man with a strong personality, exceptional passion and an exacting nature. Maison Louis de Grenelle has been inspired by this same passion since 1859, and today is the last of the great independent Saumur family houses. In the heart of their cellars carved out of the tuffeau stone, they create their wines with their delicate, refined and complex styles. La Durandière is the family estate. Françoise FLAO and her brother Antoine BODET cultivate 40 hectares of vineyards here, in keeping with the Maison’s spirit and personality. With passion at the heart of her work, more than ever she cultivates her knowledge of the terroirs and the diversity of their grape varieties. Her knowledge of the land and the vine strengthens her links with the winemakers and enables her to control the quality of the grapes which give these wines their typical style. Maison Louis de Grenelle’s wines are born of the particular care and attention which the winemakers pay to the land and to cultivating its vineyards. They practice sustainable viticulture with respect for the soils and the environment. The Louis de Grenelle style has been constructed over generations, today creating a range of unique wines, each with its own history.
A golden yellow appearance with a fine, lingering sparkle. The bouquet initially develops apricot and vine peach aromas, followed by touches of brioche and hazelnut. On the palate, the wine is both floral (acacia, linden tree) and fruity (preserved lemon, citrus fruit).
