Wolf Blass Wines International was born in 1973 when Wolf started his own business, purchasing a 2.5 acre land holding with an old army shed outside Nuriootpa, at the northern end of the Barossa Valley. John Glaetzer joined the company and from 1974-1976 Wolf Blass Wines won three consecutive Jimmy Watson Trophies, the Black Label generated substantial publicity and hype. Wolf Blass has brought the two de rigueur varietals of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir together into a Non Vintage sparkling that echoes the nose and depth of palate for which the style’s methode traditionalles are renowned.
Strawberry and red berry fruits are round with gentle citrus flavours on the palate. With a fine and persistent bead, the flavours are accompanied by a soft creaminess which provides a delicate mouthfeel, finishing with refreshing, cleansing acidity.
